House of Laurenz does not have access to your iCloud account and cannot delete or restore that data for you.
Before removing Worth Noting data from iCloud
If your record matters to you, make a manual backup first and save it somewhere outside iCloud.
In Worth Noting:
- Create a current manual backup.
- Save it somewhere you can reach even if iCloud is unavailable.
- Turn Multi-device sync off on every device using the record.
- Turn Automatic iCloud backup off on every device where it is enabled.
Turning those features off stops future Worth Noting iCloud activity from those devices. It does not by itself remove files already stored in iCloud.
Remove Worth Noting data from iCloud
Apple occasionally changes the names and arrangement of these screens, but on current iPhone and iPad software the route is generally:
- Open Settings.
- Tap your name.
- Tap iCloud.
- Tap Storage or Manage Account Storage.
- Find Worth Noting in the list. Depending on the way Apple displays the app, it may appear as Worth Noting or worthnotingapp.
- Open it and choose Delete Data From iCloud.
- Read Apple's confirmation and confirm only if you want to remove that iCloud copy.
This removes the Worth Noting information stored in that iCloud storage area.
It does not delete the Worth Noting record already stored locally on a device simply because you removed the iCloud copy.
If Worth Noting does not appear in that list at all, write to us at [email protected]. We can help you work out what the app is reporting, though we cannot reach your iCloud account ourselves.
These controls are different
Several Apple settings can sound similar but do different things.
Delete the Worth Noting app
Deleting Worth Noting from an iPhone or iPad removes the app and its locally stored data from that device. It does not automatically remove Worth Noting data already stored in iCloud.
Turn Worth Noting off under Saved to iCloud
Turning an app off under Apple's Saved to iCloud controls stops that device from using iCloud for the app. That is not the same thing as deliberately deleting the app's existing data from iCloud storage.
Change iCloud Backup settings
Apple's device-level iCloud Backup is the backup of your iPhone or iPad itself. It is separate from Worth Noting's own automatic iCloud backup and multi-device sync features.
Using Worth Noting with iCloud again
If you later want to use Worth Noting's iCloud features again, turn the feature back on inside Worth Noting.
The app will try to establish the iCloud storage it needs using your Apple Account.
Whether and when that succeeds depends on Apple's iCloud services, your account, your device settings, connectivity and available storage.
Do not delete your local record while you are troubleshooting iCloud access.
If iCloud backup or sync stops working after deletion
Your first priority is the copy still on your device.
- Leave Worth Noting installed.
- Do not use Start over.
- Make a manual backup of the local record and save it outside iCloud.
- Check that you are signed in to the expected Apple Account and that iCloud is available.
- Try the Worth Noting iCloud feature again.
If files were recently deleted from iCloud, Apple may make some deleted files from third-party apps available through Data Recovery at iCloud.com.
To find it, sign in at iCloud.com, open the grid of apps beside your account picture, and choose Data Recovery, then Restore Files. It is not in iCloud Drive's Recently Deleted, which does not list these files.
Apple generally describes this recovery window as up to 30 days, but a particular deleted file may not be available for recovery, and permanently removed files cannot be restored.
If nothing appears in Data Recovery or Worth Noting still cannot access iCloud, contact Apple Support for the Apple Account or iCloud issue. You can also contact Worth Noting support and we can help determine what the app is reporting, but we cannot access or repair your iCloud account ourselves.
If you are deleting or replacing a device
Before deleting Worth Noting, erasing a device, trading it in or replacing it, make a manual backup somewhere you know you can access.
Sync is not a substitute for a separate backup.
A deletion made on one synced device can also be carried to the other participating devices.
